Sweet Nectar

Happiness flutters in the air whilst we rest
among the breaths of nature. ~Kelly Sheaffer

Ah the sweet taste of nectar! Blossoms bustle and buzz in the sunlight littered with tiny visitors hoping to gain a sip among the petals. Each busy artisan procures his bounty and flits between the blooms. Nature is astounding and awe-inspiring. I could sit for hours and just watch...listening to the resonance drifting on the breeze. Sit quietly and you can hear the cadence beating on their translucent wings. It is as beautiful as the fragrance now filling my senses.

Nature is man's teacher. She unfolds her treasures to his search, unseals his eye, illuminates his mind, and purifies his heart; an influence breathes from all the sights and sounds of her existence. ~Alfred Billings Street

Life Returns to the Garden

With the coming of Spring, I am calm again. ~Gustav Mahler

Spring...new life and endless breezes loaded in pollen. Despite the constant bombardment of allergens, I love the sunny and warm spring days. The sounds outside are so alive and vibrant just like the colors and hues of the blossoms that are beginning to bloom. The days are longer which means more time to spend outside observing the beauty of nature. Go out and enjoy the flowers. I know I will. --sms

I am going to try to pay attention to the spring.
I am going to look around at all the flowers,
and look up at the hectic trees. I am going
to close my eyes and listen. ~Anne Lamott

One Clover and A Bee

A bee is never as busy as it seems; it's just
that it can't buzz any slower. ~Kin Hubbard

To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee,
One clover, and a bee, And reverie. The reverie
alone will do, If bees are few. ~Emily Dickinson

A Fairy's Secrets

Fairies are invisible and inaudible like angels.
But their magic sparkles in nature. ~Lynn Holland

When the winds of March
are wakening the crocuses and crickets,
Did you ever find a fairy
near some budding little thickets...
And when she sees you creeping
up to get a closer peek
She tumbles through the daffodils,
a playing hide and seek.
~Marjorie Barrows

Blooms in March

March is the month of expectation,
The things we do not know,
The Persons of Prognostication
Are coming now.
We try to sham becoming firmness,
But pompous joy
Betrays us, as his first betrothal
Betrays a boy. ~Emily Dickinson

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough. ~A.E. Houseman

Still Waiting on Spring

You never know what is enough unless you
know what is more than enough. ~William Blake

When all the world appears to be in a tumult,
and nature itself is feeling the assault of
climate change, the seasons retain their
essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a
premonition of winter, but then, winter, will
be forced to relent, once again, to the new
beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and
the sweet air of spring. ~Madeleine M. Kunin
